Gate-It Provides Gates for ABC’s Extreme Makeover

Gate-It enjoyed the prestigious privilege of being invited to manufacture and install an automatic driveway gate and matching courtyard gate for ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The popular show came to Albuquerque, New Mexico to build a new house for the Martinez family who run a neighborhood ministry and welcome homeless people into their home. Gate-It employees joined hundreds of other volunteers from many trades in donating time and materials so the well-deserving Martinez family, that gives so much to the community, could live in a house that allowed them to enjoy some privacy as a family.

The Extreme Makeover team not only tore down the Martinez's old house and rebuilt a magnificent two-story, pueblo-style home reminiscent of an adobe church, they also completely renovated one of the duplexes that provided interim shelter for families in need. All this was accomplished in just seven days with a jobsite swarming with volunteers around the clock. Through frigid weather and biting wind everyone worked together with a common purpose that was truly extraordinary.

Special thanks to DoorKing, Inc. for donating their equipment.

Here are some photos from the project.
